MILESTONS OF SUCCESS

"Go through. Go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people" (Isaiah 62: 10).

Milestones literally refer to small pillars erected on the highways to show distances from one place to the other, It is sometimes figuratively used to indicate stages reached in life pursuits. Milestones are therefore important and must be noted as useful guide to move forward in the right direction. Success also has milestones which are presented below using words formed by the acronym of milestones:

M - Motivation: Motivation refers to all the forces that energizes and sustains pursuit toward academic success.

I - Industry: This is the act of being hard-working or diligent, dutiful and disciplined because success is not by chance.

L - Labour: Labour involves the use of mental and physical powers in pursuing the goal of success.

E - Exploration: This involves exclusive search, study and a thorough examination of all the possible areas on a particular subject matter in the syllabus.

S - Study: This involves making frantic efforts and spending time to learn either by teaching-learning process or through rigorous reading activities.

T - Target: Success target are goals set to be achieved, which give direction and focus for our study.

o - Obedience: Obedience will bring answers to your prayers and earn you a good success.(Joshua 1 :8)

N - Nugget: These are tips and incentives that facilitate success which can be found in such as books as 4D of Success by W. F. Kumuyi

E - Experience: It is a good teacher which reveals potholes on the pathway of success.

S - Steadfastness: The discipline to be consistent in one's commitment to academic pursuit and achieve success at the end,



CHALLENGE: Milestones are necessary landmarks to success.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me to recognize the milestones on my way to success.
